My friend told me a story about a guy who convinced his girlfriend to take a gun, and shoot a book he was holding in front of his chest because he believed the book would stop the bullet. It didn't, and this guy was shot and killed on camera in front of a crowd of people. The lengths that people go to for social media attention is shocking, and this story hit me really hard.
I started imagining what it must be like inside the mind of a person who is so hungry for attention, they are willing to sacrifice their own life in pursuit of views and comments. This led to writing a first person account of fantasizing about being attacked and torn apart by a wild animal. The first part is the fantasy and the plan, the bass solo is the actual attack, and the final verse is the euphoric burst of social media anticipation.
